Tony Greenlaw is an award-winning songwriter (ok, well... one award) and a proud graduate of the Musical Theatre Programme at the University of Michigan.
Though he started his career on stage, Tony has always written musical theatre material and now divides his time between writing, directing and teaching.
His unique brand of 'new musical theatre' is influenced by the transatlantic nature of his life and career (though American, Tony now lives and works in the UK) and offers flavors (flavours?) of his songwriting idols such as William Finn, Ben Folds, Joe Iconis, Guy Chambers, Tim Minchin, Elton John and the guy who wrote the theme tune for 'The Littlest Hobo'.
The music and lyrics in his stand-alone songs are structured with the actor in mind, making them ideal for auditions, cabarets, and showcase revues. A proud member of MMD (Mercury Musical Developments), Tony's work has been published by New Musical Songbook and Aria Entertainments in the UK, and has been performed at such venues as the Union Theatre (London), Feinstein's/54 Below (New York), the Crazy Coqs (Soho) and Phoenix Artist Club (London).
Tony's latest show, SKY NEWS THE MUSICAL, has recently won the 'Made In Kent' award at this year's Canterbury Festival and will have its definitive production at the Festival in October 2016.
